monday’s singing session got me wanting to sing

ms chan is feeling very very very happy today!
it’s all because of…….

my new beautiful phone!
it’s everything i want
the slide kind
nokia (samsung also acceptable) brand
cool black colour
radio and expandable memory
only down side is that it’s a little heavy

ya, you all might think it’s no big deal
but those of you who know what is the condition of my samsung will know why am i so happy
no more chipped fingernails from typing sms!

on top of getting the new phone
dear came to pick me up after work! (miss him so much =D)

as for progress on my work
am getting along better with the new colleagues now
but my at-work-best-friend is still the “neighbour”
i missed getting off at my stop cos’ i was chatting with him on the train the other day
hahahaha

had the opportunity to finally start taking over part of the duty
did really badly for the first day
cant even write the shift report in the correct way
tuesday was much better
though i still feel that it wasnt me who had kept the rates going
(other people must have been helping secretly haha)
but hopefully i can try my hand to be on full duty in the later part of this month!

and my schedule for this week is super super good!
yest and today on course (which means social time)
tmr i’m off
sat on night shift
and then sun and mon will be off TOO!
best part is that i’ll company on mon =)

am going to blog about something interesting next

and we visited the 天龙八部影视城 in dali

the performances, with all the special effects… just like in the filming

the super nice 5* hotel in dali, 风花雪月大酒店 (what a name -.-)

off to lijiang!

lijiang 古城
shopping area + lots of eateries and bars along the streams
very relaxing

云南十八怪
they got lots of funny practices, due to the large number of minorities in the province

again, i forgot
but see the water is soooooo clear!!

印象丽江
a big outdoor show directed/choreographed by zhangyimou, against the background of lijiang’s famous 玉龙雪山
i think they must have a few hundred of people, and a hundred horses

supposed to be capped with snow all year round, except maybe for a short period in summer

蓝月谷

the cows there are different, not like the australia cows
they are called 牦牛

the chalet-style hotel we stayed in lijiang
4 families to stay in a bungalow, complete with a big living room and dining room
and there is a housekeeper to take care of all our needs in each!
she cooks our breakfast, cut our fruits, do our laundry etc

shangrila
actually i’ve got few pictures of shangrila
cos’ we only spend half a day there
and weather is terribly cold

the 古城 in shangrila
yup, dont be surprised, there is a 古城 in every city

flew back to kunming from shangrila

九乡
it’s basically a place with lots of interesting rock-cave formation

my favourite place, 石林

过桥米线, one of the famous dish in yunnan
the soup has a layer of oil, keeping it boiling hot
and the way to eat it is to put in the raw meat, then the veg and finally the noodles

and we went flower plucking =)
super fun!

and we went peach plucking!
really fresh from the trees
and the owner of the farm told us that peaches on different trees taste differently
some sweeter than others, even though they are planted on the same plot of land
because they receive different amount of sunlight
so pluck one and eat it to decide if you want the peaches from that tree
left there with a stomach full of peaches
pluck, eat and pluck some more
and cant drink water within half an hour after eating peaches
gives you diahhroea it seems

filled with special types of mushroom from yunnan

and off to the flower market
the flowers are super super super cheap can?
12 fresh roses for RMB1 dollar!!!
and guess how much is the large boquets with the ‘love’ arrangement?
less than RMB100!
guys have no excuses NOT to give flowers to girls in yunnan

*phew* finally finish doing up this post
took me 2hrs, to choose the photos
took more than 600 photos -.-

the weather is super nice over there
less than 25degrees
and china is really not what it used to be
now, they have good systems and good security
only toilets needs to be improved
really, i insisted on not gg to roadside toilets
cos’ feedback from people after they went in is that they are of “2-star standard”
which is 恶心 hahaha

and a short update
i’m still slacking at home!
havent start work yet, due to i-dunno-why
well, it could be a good chance for me to rest more
and spend more time with him

ok, finally no-more a student
(pls let me graduate!! *worried*)
it’s weird
probably cos’ there isnt any proper closure to school life yet
thursday, while studying for the last paper
i suddenly wished that time could pass slower
that’s was the last few hours i would ever spend studying for exams

anyway, thursday was rather eventful
had a convocation photoshoot in the morning
ya, some of us modeled on behalf of our pioneer cohort for our faculty
it was fun! despite the fact that the first shot took 1/2hr to get it perfected
and us standing there like zombies (can’t move cos’ scare out of position)
but weather wasnt on our side and hence couldnt take nice outdoor shots
and also lucky that we didnt have to parade around in the convocation gowns
imagine everyone is studying for exams, and we gg around taking convo photos!

then i was greatly amazed by the open-concept toilets in our new school lib
unisex washroom completed with pantry
and a heated toilet seat!
damn shiok lah! as liz says, once you sit down, wont want to get up hahaha
but it was such a waste of electricity
if this extends to our new school building, think it will really become the ‘cool’ place to meet

spent and going on to spend more money these few days
ps3, wii or xbox?
and i saw so many many disney plush that i want!
online shopping is really amazing
cheaper and lots of cute ones that cant get in shops
desperately want the mickey mouse sorcerer/wizard one
saw it on ebay, but the shipping charges from USA is like ex
so u 3 know what to buy for me ya? hahahaha

oh ya, the “unwise” one “refuse” to let me put any toys in his car!!!

with no pressing datelines
and simply trying to pass my time
watching youtube and crunchyroll
btw, who know any good sites to watch tvb dramas? crunchyroll is getting a bit sucky

i was talking to my mum this morning
that i want to get cable tv and buy wii after exams
just to keep myself entertained at home

well, i’m not complaining
it’s nice to have sometime to spend at home doing nothing
but not too often ya? hahaha
